From 1 July 2017, the surcharge purchaser duty rate will increase from 4 per cent to 8 per cent.
Permanent residents (including New Zealand citizens)
From 20 June 2017, permanent residents, including New Zealand citizens holding a Special Category visa (subclass 444), will be exempt from surcharge purchaser duty on their principal place of residence, if they occupy the home for a continuous period of 200 days within 12 months of purchase.
The exemption will be granted if the person declares that they will complete the 200 day residence requirement.
这里说的是要在新房settle之后的一年内continuous住满200天?还是买房之前的12个月要住满200天?
我想知道这个continuous是不是说连续的,是不是说这200天内我是完全不能出境的状态,不管是旅游,出差都不可以?
还是说只要我可以一直交着水电网费,说明我是自住,就可以了?

An individual is ordinarily resident in Australia at a particular time if the individual has actually been in Australia during 200 or more days in the period of 12 months immediately preceding that time, and is not (or was not, immediately before their most recent departure from Australia) subject to any limitation as to time for their continued presence in Australia. This does not include the date of arrival or the date of departure.

到底是之前还是之后?如果2017年7月1号之前买的房子,已经按照8%交过税了,然后买房后住够200天,这个多余的4%的税还能退吗?
