刚买不久的小窝,竟出现这种问题,刚开始以为是普通下水道堵塞,结果看了中介发来的email彻底蒙了,下面是中介的email求大神帮忙啊!
Just and update with the sewer at this property. We arranged for Sydney water to clean out their mains. We attended site while they were there and the blockage was not a Sydney water issue. They looked at the sewer connection for this property and could not get their head Around what has been done as the point of connections and set up did not make sense. We used the high pressure water jetter and cleared the sewer for this property to find out machine had been lodged into the sewer main and we could not retrieve it. We spent over 2.5 hours attempting to get this out however the cctv
Showed the sewer has collapsed and our machine is caught in this. We found there was a lot of blue metal (10mm gravel) inside the sewer which had been coming in from the earth when The original sewer was backfilled. This sewer needs to be excavated and repaired as we cannot take the risk of our machine getting caught again. This will involve cutting of concrete, removal of section of drive way, machine excavate the area and replace the sewer mains.
Unfortunately this is a costly process due to the extent of work involved in repairing this. The sewer is partially clear however this will block up again in no time

字面上理解,sydneywater要切开路面重新修复地下的污管,以防他们的机器再次被卡进去出不来。

说的很清楚, 楼主悲剧了。 大体是下水道被乱修过,现在踏了这次sydney water帮你半开通了不过很快又会堵上。 目前需要挖开大修,目测要大出血。

如果你的房子没有建在这污管上,那还好写,就怕房子建在这管子上,那就麻烦了,而且sydney water说和他们没有关系,我个人看来算是好事,至少他们不会强制性要你拆掉啥去修复管道。
这没办法的,算在当初你买房的cost上吧,想开点,该来的迟早要来的。

省钱不是最重要的,重要的是修复,万一再坏了,cost就是个double。

真可怜,不懂帮顶~~lz这是新买的house吗?话说地下管道这种事还真不是inspection能看出来的,如果是老房子,前房主难道就没遇到过这个问题吗?新房子的话是不是可以找开发商?

If the broken sewer line in question is an underground pipe that connects to the main municipal line in your neighborhood, your insurance company will want to know where exactly the break occurred. It is unlikely to cover a break that occurs outside of the "footprint" of your home's foundation under any circumstances. If the break occurred within the home's foundation, it may be covered.

安慰一下lz~~~我之前买了老unit也是刚买房顶就漏雨,和水帘洞似的,后来找strata给修好了没花钱,不过strata估计会涨~~
对了,你房子成交当天没买个building insurance吗?这种大问题Insurance会帮你cover的吧。没买的话可真要自己弄了,哎~

别头大,就是挖个坑接段管子,能用保险就把管子全换了,要不就找个便宜plumber 换一段。driveway 复原也不是个事,多找几个过来估价心中就有数了
