The businessman behind the tallest development to be approved for Gosford was hesitant to invest in the city. But Peter Zhu (pictured) happily committed to the Mariners Plaza project after he was won over by the enthusiasm to revitalise the CBD. Mr Zhu is owner/developer of the $157 million Mariners Plaza project, on the old Union Hotel site at the corner of Mann and Donnison streets, which last week was given the green light by the Joint Regional Planning Panel, along with a retail and housing development at Erina St and Henry Parry Drive.
Mr Zhu is confident the two-tower, 28-storey retail, residential and hotel complex will open by late 2018. He hopes construction will begin early next year.
“Now that we have approval, the next step is to apply immediately for a construction certificate and the finalisation of that process should take around five months,” he said.
“We would be hoping to start construction by the end of the year or early in the new year with a twoand-a-half year construction period.”
Sydney-based Mr Zhu had originally intended to develop at Terrigal.
“When I was approached to buy the site at Gosford I was a little hesitant but I met with Gosford Council officers and the Mayor Lawrie McKinna and I was touched by their enthusiasm and passion for revitalising the city centre,” he said.
“I asked a lot of residents and business people for their thoughts and met with such a high level of enthusiasm that a development in Gosford also became my passion.”
Mr Zhu, who is a regular visitor to the Coast, said he had given the council an undertaking that he would deliver a quality project.
Designed by Dickson Rothschild, the project will comprise retail space, the luxury Hotel Vogue and two residential towers of 26 and 28 storeys.
The approval of Gosford’s tallest development has opened the gates to other high-rise residential and retail projects to revitalise the city centre.

买的到。
豆腐,面条,饺子皮,馄饨皮在Wollis, coles, harris farm都可以买到,不过品牌种类有限。
Wyoming shopping center有个中国杂货店,erina fair外面有个亚洲杂货店,这两个店里的品牌和种类多很多。

要不试试在悉尼找找,gosford本身就不是个工作机会很多的地方。
