Not necessarily, what's the GST registration date you put in when you applied? do you mean you only received the letter from the ATO on 20/08/09?

I received a letter from ATO which said that my GST registration is with effective on 20 Aug. 2009.

you should have registered GST on the date of company establishment in that case, which would be mid july. To get everything right, you could just the ato a call and have them move the effective date to mid july.

大部分情况下在最后一步会显示出ABN,但如果你的输入的数据和ATO 的有一些出入，当时不会立刻拿到，需要等28天，ATO会寄给你。
