主要是如果填Australian residence for tax purpose的时候是写半年还是一年？写一年的话税岂不是大部分能退回来，似乎不合理啊， ATO会知道是否在境内吗？

If you became/or stopped being a resident of Australia during the year, then the tax free threshold need to be apportioned to reflect only the period from when you are a resident until 30 June.
You will need to complete item A2 part year tax free threshold in the tax return.
