隔壁的'精明买家'版上经常看到很多"making easy money"的贴子,引出一个税务上的问题,请各位大会计师不吝赐教。
所有以下例子是简化了的真实版:
#1 在银行A新开户(Saving a/c),存入$3000之后,银行会送$100并存入帐户;
#2 在银行B新开户 (credit card),每次消费后银行回送5%,例如:化费$100,银行会送$5作为回赠并存入帐户;
#3 在银行C新开户 (credit card), 会员积分,若干年月日之后,积分兑现成$100的Cash back并存入帐户。
以上款项是不是属于要交税的Taxable Income?

I would say these are all reduction of bank fees or expenses. You will be 100% fine if you dont report these on your tax return.

I guess you are saying:
they are taxable income;
but the bank related fees, charges or expenses would make it OK not to report them in the tax return.
those bank related fees, charges or expenses would still be less than the taxable income;
and in a "lucky" year, one could easily get over $500 of those "easy money".

These are like rebates not income. Definately not taxable.
