The money has to be in the FHSA for at least 4 financial years before it can be used to pay towards the purchase of your first home or an eligible mortgage. Let me know if you have questions.

not many people can wait for 4 years to buy their first home.
banks won't even like to help you with it.

Well it depends on personal circumstances. Besides if you set it up at the right time 4 financial years is not the same as 48 months.

yah I agree, it really depends on your situation.
you can help your kid to set it up in his/her 1st uni year...
But I do agree not many banks are doing, in fact I think all major 4 no longer offer this account to the new customers.
If u can wait, and have spare funds..why not? it's like guaranteed return from Govt.
