You still have to pay more comparing not to buy an investment property.
For example, your income is $80K per year, you has to pay around 20% as your tax.
If you buy a property for investment, like $200K. You have to pay the settlement agent fee, council fee, water fee, bank fee.......around $10K. You may be lucky to claim 30% of 10K ($3000)back considering you have paid 10K already.
If you find the tenant, you may claim less as the rent will be your income.
