看了这许多翻译（10楼不算），除了 14 楼，几乎所有人 都用到 him 一词；我想，楼主请求翻译的这一句话应该是有上下文承载的，所以 him 不一定要翻译出来，因为上下文以及这句中的 we 已经是表明了是“我和他”，14楼的翻译比较 unique 一点，至于到底谁翻译的最接近英语母语的表达，还是请高手来发表意见~

用had的话ok，
但我觉得是end不是ending。
这个是have someone do something的句式。所以不是to do 也不是doing。
这句话去掉修饰就是让road trip以愉快告终：we have the road trip (=someone) end up (=do) delight(=something)
