Ja'mie although in its hilarity attracts both teenagers and adults alike, is disgustingly or even disturbingly true. I could easily imagine the scenes of Ja'mie become reality and fill our schools. I admit, not all school student may exhibit such behaviour, however it is undeniably true that some students do. Ja'mie's faults and thoughts are scattered around schools and although the student may not say something about it, they may think and want to act just as Ja'mie would've done. Surely there can't be a girl just like Ja'mie right though? Personally the character of Ja'mie is quite overwhelming, and no student should have Ja'mie's character, but some of her characteristics might live in them.

Ja'mie's language especially, is displayed all over schools. The frequent uses of coarse language for really trivial matters such as making your friends laugh and talking behind someone's back seems to be a new trend. If you walked into a high school and chose a group of girls to talk to, they'd most likely swear right in front of you. I used make a huge deal about, but after going to my high school and hearing people calling people 'sluts' and 'b**ch's' or using the 'f - word' quite frequently on a daily basis, it was a normal thing. To me, swearing is what girls do when they want to become part of the 'popular group' or try to be 'hipster'. Either that, or they genuinely use those words in the appropriate context (rarely).

It's quite interesting really to watch Ja'mie do her thing on the TV, because you realise how much of it happens in real life, and you realise how truly disgusting and bad it is when you're not with your friends in school. Suddenly, you feel just bit ashamed of yourself, because you may of reacted to a certain situation just like Ja'mie would've done. It's a scary thing to think about. If all the people in our schools let out their inner Ja'mie's, then we'd never get along. Girl on girl fights aren't as weak as people may think. We're capable of extreme stuff, we hold grudges, we ruin others if not physically then mentally and we can get very, very nasty. Ja'mie acts as bit of a warning. She's trying to tell us that it's useless to act in the way she does and just look where it's gotten her.

She's a source of confrontation, when we as school kids (especially girls) watch her on television, this question keeps coming up in our heads: "Am I the Ja'mie of my school?" We refuse to believe in the fact that some version of Ja'mie lives inside all of us, and through watching her it just makes us feel better. However, as much as we laugh and make fun of her for our own denial issues, it feels as if Ja'mie hasn't really done her job. She's supposed to be the girl (well, boy really) that ideally wouldn't want to be, therefore creating some change in schools right? But if we just laugh at her and convince ourselves that the exaggerated and ridiculous actions of Ja'mie aren't things that we'd ever do, then our inner Ja'mie's will still continue to thrive. I think the flaw in this reality TV show is that Ja'mie is too overwhelming and a little unrealistic. That's why we girls still like to think that Ja'mie is only a character on the screens and for someone to be like that in real life is nearing impossible. Therefore small versions of Ja'mie will still continue to grow in us and when finally one person manages to push their inner Ja'mie to fit the TV Ja'mie's character, it all of a sudden will become normal behaviour for young girls. See the logic? I think Ja'mie could've been a lot more sneaky and smarter with her actions instead of making them so upfront and nasty. I'm not saying that this was a bad show, but I definitely think they could've done better in terms of the character development of Ja'mie.
