买的地上有个covenant说是以后重建一定要用brick,brick veneer或者stone做外墙。找了一个大的建筑公司说是glen50%的房子都有这种covenant。有谁知道这种covenant怎么取消,取消的过程和费用吗?我看glen造房子造的如火如荼的。

可以花钱找律师试图办理取消,但是非常非常的艰难,而且要花很多很多的钱,到最后估计结果也是不批。所以楼主还是换房子好了。

Don't believe what the builder says, not 50%, 15% maybe.
If you are lucky enough, sometimes council's planner / your building surveyor will consider brick finish to ground floor is "dominant enough", then you could have render finish at first floor. This is from real cases, no joking. But anyway nobody could guarantee.
Even if you are unable to remove this covenant, the alternative way might be something called "brick tile" similar, still lightweight, relatively cost efficient, easy to install if your builder has the experience.

Yes, we designed 2 units in one lot for client in Glen and got town planning permit without any issues (ground floor: brick, first floor: render finish), those units are currently being built. However as I mentioned, we couldn't guarantee the covenant will be removed in any application.
Price-wise, that of the brick-looking cladding is approx. 60-70% of that of brick veneer, depends on the materials you choose and builder's labour cost, yes, still more expensive than rendered foam wall, that's why I said it is "relatively cost efficient".
