Kids knocked the cistern lid onto the floor and it split into 3 pieces, right where the hole for the flush button goes. We are currently putting together plans for a reno including the toilet rooms so just want a temporary fix for a couple of months. Any suggestions for which glue I need from Bunnings?

Selleys 3 in 1
Alternatively, 2 part epoxy; both can be available in clear or white.

Superglue works very well on ceramics, you'll probably need several tubes but if you've got a $2 shop nearby you can get 6 tubes for under $5.

Super glue would work great. The thing that I hate is that the slow cure super glue don't seem to be available off the shelf in Australia (at least I personally haven't seen it on the shelves).
So you have to be set and work fast.
Even Bunnings has a cheap 6 pack of super glue for under $2.

I think that this is a false economy as the glue sets so fast it is really difficult, almost impossible, to align the surfaces properly.
I would prefer to use the two part super glue:
apply super glue to both surfaces, align joint properly, spray accelerator along join.A generous application of epoxy should also work well.

If you have an older open tube, it becomes slower. There is also the superglue gel by Gorilla which you can get in office works. It sets in 10-45 seconds according to the spec but it is rather slow
For a cistern lid though, it isn't going to last long on porous breaks but the gel version will go a little way to help. It is more designed for vases. I'd go for the two part epoxy that "fills" the porous surface. If you don't mind the grey colour, JB weld is one the best I've used.

I was in the same position and tried to replace the lid first but Caroma didn't make that model anymore. I used Selleys PorcelainFix which fills gaps and dries white. You can't even see cracks from a distance.

I've used the Selley's PorcelainFix before and that would be my choice. It is basically just white Araldite. Both will work the same but normal Araldite will yellow and look a lot worse.

White, if it's available, would be better, especially if there are any large chips to fill; run a blade over to smooth the surface and remove any excess.
Have often used it to fill chips in white steel baths and shower trays etc.

Have used Selleys Porcelain for a shower tray chip many / 10 years ago but appears to be discontinued. Original tube mixer now unusable. Can't find White Araldite.
Need to re-do shower tray as repair discoloured and part fallen out, so watching this thread.

You could use ultra clear Araldite and mix in some Titanium Dioxide powder to make it white or you could use something like this: https://www.bunnings.com.au/r

I notice that bunnings sell a different brand of white epoxy paste. I don't know how good it is:

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'll try the Selley's Porcelin Fix and report back.
