有一个Thinking Skill的考试题目想问一下大家,我这也没有想明白
"If you want to be part of the yachting team, you must pass the physical examination and have a certificate to show that you can swim.
Charlotte: Peter has passed the physical examination, but he is not allowed on the yachting team, he must not have a certificate to show that he can swim.
问Charlotte的reasoning 是不是对的。
请大家说说自己的看法, 为什么。

I agree that the question is wrong. I have also experienced this question. Peter could have had the certificate but wasn’t allowed into the yachting team.

我觉得是对的,虽然有可能两个条件都满足也不让她加入,但是这个题没有那么复杂

题目给的是两个必要条件。

和我看法一致。我发现很多这种题不同学校出的,答案都不一样,让孩子无所适从。明显用must表达了两个必要条件,大家应该明白必要条件的逻辑意义。

给的Implication是yachting team => pass physical exam & swim certificate
我们只能知道Contrapositive是对的 就是 not pass physical exams OR no swim certificate => not yachting team
Implication 的converse不能证明是绝对的
也就是说根据已知条件不能说pass physical exam & swim certificate=>yachting team
Charlotte 的reasoning就是假设这个
就好像
入学了James Ruse => 参加了精英中学考试+ 成绩过了jr录取线
但是例如某人 参加了考试 但是没入学JR 不一定是没过录取线
也可能是拒绝了jr的offer选择去了别的学校
