Seeking your input for a sanity/price check.
Existing 6.6kw system. Wanting to use the Labor battery grant to get a battery. Installers suggesting to increase the solar panels to 13kw with the Powerwall 3. Apparently both systems will work together with a export cap at 5kw due to single phase ( I dont understand what happens when the battery is full and production – usage >5kw).
Does that sound like a good idea?
Cost is quoted at around 23k before any government grants. 16k for the powerwall. 7k for the additional 6.6kw (no inverter required as the powerwall 3 has one).
How is the pricing?
We use a/c for heating (gas ducted available as backup) gas storage hot water, drive an EV.

How much of your own PV generated electricity do you use now?
PowerWall 3 will allow you to time shift how many kWh each day?
Are you thinking of getting an electric element or heat pump storage HWS?
How many kWh does your car use a week and can you charge it from your solar?
Realistically, you should know what your overall electricity consumption is and when it's used. Will the extra PV generation occur when you can use it?
If your battery is full and production is > usage + 5kWh export limit the panels essentially stop producing.
