Hi
I have an electrical meter which does both Modbus TCP/IP and Bacnet IP using Ethernet.
Does this mean that you can communicate with the meter using either protocol and it will be understood?
I figure that the meter understands whether it be Modbus or Bacnet protocol being used coming down the line. Does it recognise the difference, how?
So if you wanted to test if the Bacnet part of the meter is working could you use Modbus to confirm or would you need to use Bacnet protocol?
