Thank you for your enquiry.
Travellers are allowed to aggregate multiple invoices from single retailers (retailers with the same Australian Business Number) in order to meet the $300 threshold for TRS claims.
Tax invoice must state the words 'tax invoice', ABN of retailer, purchase price including GST, description of goods, name of retailer, and date of purchase.
If you return to Australia with goods for which you have claimed a GST refund under the TRS on departure, you must declare those goods at Question 3 on the Incoming Passenger Card (IPC) if their value exceeds the passenger concession of A$900. GST refunds received on goods exceeding the passenger concession will have to be repaid if the items are brought into Australia.
If the goods are to be brought back into Australia, please be aware that they may be subject to GST. Normal passenger concessions apply and include any items for which a TRS claim has been approved. If the value of those goods together with overseas purchases exceeds the passenger concession, the goods must be declared to Customs on your return to Australia. Penalties apply to undeclared taxable goods.
If in doubt you should declare the goods to Customs and Border Protection on your return.

继续,我的问题
1.On one invoices, there are 4 items, among which, only 3 items were actually taken overseas for GST return, is it ok just take 3 items out, or I have to take all 4 items with me?
2.I bought a laptop, if I just bring the laptop without the packing box, can I still get GST return in airport?
3.Heard there is new policy enforced, all the goods except liquids have to be carried to the aircraft, I bought some blankets for my friends, which I plan to claim for GST return. the size of the blanket is very big, cannot be fitted into my carry on luggage, and it might lead to a over-weight of my carry-on luggage. In this case, can I claim these blankets first and put them into my checking luggage?

他们的答复
1. You are not obliged to claim all the items on the TRS, you may claim the 3 items as long as their value is equal to or greater than AU$300;
2. You do not need the packaging for your laptop, you simply must present the laptop and the invoice;
3. The policy is that TRS goods must be taken with you on your carry-on luggage, however, there are some allowances for oversized items. While we do not encourage you to have your goods cited prior to check-in, there is a possibility that the client service office will accept the blanket as an oversized item. Please refer to our website to locate the Customs service office in the airport that you are departing from. http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4646.asp. Please read under the heading 'TRS facility location' and note the right hand column of the table listing 'Locations of Customs & Border Protection client service desks'.
