Tourist Refund Scheme now easier to accessChanges to the requirements for making a claim under the AustralianGovernment's Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) come into effect today.
The TRS regulation changes will allow passengers to claim a refund of GST onpurchases made up to 60 days before leaving Australia; previously it was 30days. Passengers will also now be able to submit more than one tax invoice fromthe one retailer to make their claim provided the total purchase from thatretailer amounts to A$300 or more (including GST).
Customs and Border Protection National Director Passengers, Jeff Buckpitt,said: "The scheme allows overseas visitors and Australian residentsdeparting Australia to claim a refund on the Goods and Services Tax and WineEqualisation Tax on goods purchased in Australia and taken overseas withthem."
Passengers will need to present their claim for GST refunds no later than 30minutes before the scheduled departure time of their flight. For vesseldepartures, passengers need to present their claims no earlier than four hoursand no later than one hour before the scheduled departure time.
"It is important for passengers to remember that if the TRS claimedgoods are brought back into Australia they may be subject to GST," MrBuckpitt said.
"If the value of the TRS claimed goods, together with duty-free andoverseas goods exceeds the passenger concession, the goods must be declared toa Customs and Border Protection officer on return to Australia.
"Penalties apply to undeclared taxable goods. If in doubt, declare yourgoods when you return."

行李托运之前要去盖个章, 他们要看的话, 你要把行李打开把物件展示一下. 如果你告诉他们是你自己用的东西, 那就没戏了, 一定要说是带回去送人的, 不会再带回来了. 章盖好后, 行李就托运掉了.

衣服保健品什么的带到楼下ARRIVAL那层专门的地方让工作人员看一下，然后在你的发票上盖章，你就可以去托运了，然后到了TRS把你盖过章的发票给他们看就可以了。
