Hyundai召回刹车系统, 时间不能配合我的假期, 我要自己出钱租车吗?
The below letter was sent to Hyundai Customer Service, should I expect anything from them? Anything I could do to protect my rights here if any?
Dear Sir/Mdm,
Today I received registered letter from Hyundai Australia stating that my Hyundai i30 with plate number XXXXXX and VIN number XXXXXXXXXXXXX requires the replacement of ABS/ESC control module.
As instructed by the letter I contacted the nearest Hyndai dealer but unfortunately this can not be replaced until 4th October due to fully booked schedule. I was asking them if any chance this can be done before 29th September as I have been planning a self-driving trip from Sydney to Melbourne from 30th September to 8th October. The answer is no.
I definitely don't want to drive a car with potential braking system issue for such a long distance. I was only hoping Hyundai could help me with some arrangements to sort it out so that I can enjoy my vacation.
But the conversation with the customer service officer wasn't particular happy. I called on 12:25PM Monday 21st September but the answer was the same. No one could help me for anything. When I asked the officer with the question "will you drive a car with potential braking system issue for such a long distance?", the answer was "I'm not sure I am not a mechanic". To me, this is a question you can answer with common sense, not mechanic's knowledge. you don't drive the car that has potential fatal issue!!!
I understand he could not make any decision but I still have the last hope that somebody from high rank could help us out. The solution can be easy, either help me fix the issue before 29th September, or dispatch a same and safe car for temporary usage, or compensate any cost that occurs for this drama.
Once again, I am not the one who has any fault, hence I should not be the person that bears the cost.

不如还是先了解一下这个召回具体是干什么的,如果出问题了是什么症状?
然后再考虑这跟你放假开出去玩有多少联系?

如果你现在没有这个warning light,指望它在接下来几千公里亮起来不太容易

我要是客服看到关于这个recall客人用到"potential fatal issue"这三个词我就可以点右上角关了,上升到这个程度跟隔壁一个帖子福克斯坏了找福特赔新车原因是用命换来的的情况有点类似

关键是刹车系统不能马虎吧?其他都好说

这不是刹车系统,是esc,只是esc的作用通过刹车系统来释放而已,坏了是有warning light的

学习了,信上说ABS/ESC系统,记得ABS是容易高速的时候出问题

如果已经坏了,那建议最好就别开着跑远路,毕竟还是有点风险
如果没有坏,那很难指望它在十天半个月之内会坏
最好的方法是1.换有空的dealer
2. 继续开,如果你出发前它esc灯亮了你要求loan car成功率很高
