Emergency service drivers say ignorant motorists can be difference between life and death for first responders
Top ten tips for drivers
● Do not panic when you see the flashing lights or hear the siren of an emergency service vehicle
● Slow down but do not break rapidly
● Use your indicators: don’t just pull over
● Be aware of other motorists before changing lanes
● Do not move suddenly or into the path of an emergency vehicle.
● Move as far to the left of the road as you can and come to a stop
● If you cannot move out of the path safely, keep moving forward until it’s safe to move over
● Do not go through a red light – allow the emergency vehicle to move around your vehicle
● If traffic has been stopped due to a motor vehicle accident, don’t throw a U-turn in the queue because there may be an emergency vehicle coming the down the road

如果前面是红灯后面有emergency vehicle 不是应该开过红灯吗？否则就堵住emergency vehicle 的前进路线了。

Do not go through a red light – allow the emergency vehicle to move around your vehicle
Or you have to wait till it is green light...then move out of the way...the car next to you will let you do so...
