家里的五年级小姑娘爱看书，给看了很多小说，各种推荐的书，也是自发的爱看书。
考试起来，reading 挺强的，但是writing 分数低到尘埃里去了。
其实我自己看起来写得挺好玩的，但是想必老师打分的时候有一套结构和标准来评定。
这种虎头蛇尾，略带幽默的风格，挺引人入胜的，但在考试的时候却非常吃亏。
我小时候读书其实没有我女儿多，但是总是抱着作文文选看，完全吃透里面的套路，所以作文得分很高。
请问澳洲有类似的作文文选吗？
下面贴一下她最近的作文，请大家指点迷津。

The Mysterious Envelope
On a particular Wednesday evening, I strolled over to the park bench that I always relax on every week, quietly reading my book, ready to become emersed within it's pages. I cradled the book in my arms, resting myself for a while as I admired the sun gracefully dipping below the horizen, it's gleeming rays of scarlet red dancing along the sky. A bird cautiously skipped towards me, singing a playful tune as it pecked at a few bread crumbs I had let for i to enjoy. I suddenly spotted a piece of neatly folded paper from the corner of my eye.
Twisting my head around I laid my eyes on a battered envelope, dyed red from the sinking sun. But that wasn't what terrified me. On the middle of the envelope, in bold, black letters, said : To Evelyn.
Horror swallowed me as I imagined death letters that I had read about in books my brother had taunted me to read. Blood pounded in my ears and my breath was caught in my throat. Clenching my fists, I tried to stay calm but it didn't work.
After a few minutes of panicking, I lulled my fears away telling myself that there wasn't such a thing called death envelopes, And finally, I gthered enough courage to peek inside the envelope.
To my relief, I realised that it was just a letter informing me about the new house that had recently been sold.

跟我女儿一样，现在也是五年级，三年级开始写章节小说，几十章那种，写了一本又一本，课堂作文经常结不了尾，很多都是“欲知后事下回分解”。
前段时间偶尔发现新概念三，篇篇课文都是好作文，就给她讲，现在讲一半了，好像有点效果。
打算再找了写作老师，各种文体辅导一下，长的小说能写，有头有尾的小作文也应该没问题啊。

你说得没错，孩子写的是片段。是不是有字数限制？按理说，片段 + 片段 + 片段，最终会出一部完整的小说啊。
