全國讀寫算術測試新州學生表現良好
聯邦教育部長姬拉德（Julia Gillard）公佈首次全國讀寫及算術能力評估（NAPLAN）結果。全澳約100萬名3、5、7、9年級學生今年5月參加了這一考試，其中新州學生超過35萬人，而且新州各個年級的學生表現良好。反觀北領地土著學生，在英語和數學方面的能力不佳。
新州學生的拼寫能力尤其優異，3、5、7年級學生的拼寫測試結果中均排名第一。在寫作方面，新州3年級學生全國第一，5年級學生全國第二。在算術能力方面，新州5、9年級學生均位居全國第二。
自下周一起，家長將收到一份報告，報告上將顯示子女的成績與平均水平，以及全國最低標準的對比。而新州公立學校的學生家長還將收到另一份補充報告，內容為子女及所就讀學校的表現。

National Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Results Released
The 2008 National Literacy and Numeracy Assessment results released today show that the majority of Australian students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are reaching the national minimum standard for their year level.
However, the results indicate more needs to be done to ensure all Australian students are getting the basics right.
These results set a new benchmark in Australia for understanding student achievement.
In May this year, for the first time, all Australian school students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 undertook the same assessment in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and numeracy.
The results show that more than 90 per cent of students in Australia are performing at or above the national minimum standard in each of the key areas and around 80 per cent of students achieved above the minimum standard.
The 2008 National Literacy and Numeracy Assessment results provide an unprecedented level of information for parents, teachers, schools on individual student performance.
It provides a national picture for years 3, 5, 7 and 9 in the crucial areas of literacy and numeracy, showing the full range of student achievement.
The results from the national assessments will give Australia’s education ministers the information they need to provide greater support to schools and students in specific areas or years – something that has not been possible before.
For the first time, the Australian Government will be able to look at state and territory results to get a better understanding of who needs a helping hand in meeting their challenges.
Importantly, these results clearly indicate that the Rudd Government’s Education Revolution is on the right track. In particular, the Government’s commitment to:
Universal access to a quality early childhood education program for pre-school children;
A National Curriculum, focusing on the core subjects of English, maths, science and history first;
The Closing the Gap in Indigenous educational attainment goal;
The National Partnership on additional resources for disadvantaged schools; and
A National Partnership on Quality Teaching.
From next week, parents of year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students who sat the national literacy and numeracy assessment in May will receive a report showing how their child is going at school in those key areas.
The report sent to parents will show the national average and whether their child has achieved the national minimum standard.
As each child advances through school, parents and teachers will be able to monitor their progress in literacy and numeracy and provide support and encouragement where needed.
For the individual child, this assessment is very important but parents should consider these results together with other school-based assessments and reports.
The National Literacy and Numeracy Summary Report was released at a meeting of Commonwealth, State and Territory Education Ministers (MCEETYA) in Melbourne today and is available at www.naplan.edu.au.

昆士兰新闻好像提到昆省仅仅好于北领地。

其实QLD还行，很多都是9成以上的学生高于全国的最低标准。
但是北领地是非常非常差的。

纯粹的Maths部分，国内领先一年半很正常。
但是国内的数学部分是没有General Ability （GA），这是个很大的不同。
我一个朋友的亲戚的孩子小学国内五年级来澳洲玩，给他做女儿（Year 3）补习班里MATHS的部分，轻而易举，说太容易，他二年级的时候就会了。
但是GA的部分，他完全没有概念。。。

儿子是今年3月19号入学，进入year7学习。好象是5月考试的。
今天收到了儿子的考试成绩了。
英语听说读写在Band6,靠近Band7的地方。接近平均水平。
NUMERACY在BAND9的上面的三角形里面。是最高的。
