小学是很难有什么量化的指标来比较的，最好的办法就是去学校看，和家长谈谈。
小学的好坏往往都是家长的口碑里的东西。
一般来说，学生人数是个可以看得见的指标。
不要去人数在200-300人的小学，这样的公立学校一般的师资力量和学术成绩不如人数在600人以上的小学。
在北区有一些很小的学校更像是私立学校的过渡学校，很多白人家长把孩子放在那里只是在等私立的waiting list，所以整个学校的学习气氛就不行了。
个人意见仅供参考。

朱版说得很有道理。小学都有各自的网页，LZ可以浏览网页，另外，亲自到学校去参观一下，跟校长聊聊，看看学校的地理环境，师生结构，要一份Annual Report回来看一下，重点看5，6年级的人数，如果5，6年级班级很少，人数很少，那么就很像朱版说得，到了高一点年级就转私校了。如果5，6年级很强，这个学校就不会差。

我也做了research, 甚至去各个学校去实地考察了一下（只是看看硬件，因均是周末去的），所以筛选出以上几个学校。
关于学校规模，各有各个说法. 有的认为小规模好（因老师可多时间关注孩子），也有的觉得规模大的好（诸如fund多，师资强），所谓见仁见智。 不过朱版的过渡之说倒值得重视，我就见过一所名区的学校居然破旧的很，跟乡下小学差不多，当初还纳闷呢！

你说的那几所学校我不是特别了解，好像都是以澳洲白人孩子为主的学校，校风应该是可以的，Roseville那个小学我去看过，周围环境都不错，学校不是很大，不过感觉还不错的样子。
澳洲本地白人，都倾向于小规模学校，他们都不太喜欢人数众多的小学，可能他们更倾向于那种大家比较联系紧密，community的感觉。
从academic的角度来看的话呢，我推荐Artarmon Public，这个小学的academic很强，华人孩子比较多。我个人比较倾向于一半一半的结构，一半亚洲（移民）孩子，一半澳洲本地孩子，这样孩子更容易适应，也容易保持自己的文化背景，也更不容易感到自卑。如果全部是白人孩子，我有点担心孩子会觉得自己是odd one out。
我自己选的是Neutral Bay Public，这个小学有600人，2个OC班，平常有很多社会活动，校长也认真负责，相对academic可能会比Artarmon弱一点。人员结构低年级以本地孩子为主，高年级一半一半，属于我的理想状态。
另外据我所知，澳洲本地白人也比较喜欢上Cammeray Public，Willoughby 小学比较大，本地人，亚洲人都不少。这两家的academic我就不是特别清楚，但是校风都不错的。

补充一点，如果学校里很多本地孩子，亚洲孩子相对较少，就要看你的孩子的社会交往能力如何。我们一般非常鼓励孩子多跟其他孩子社会交往，培养social skills，家长也应该尽量给孩子创造锻炼的机会，多交朋友，build up friendship with peers， 同时培养自尊和自信心。不知道LZ的孩子跟白人小孩的交往能力如何，如果能力很好就没问题。小孩们周末和school holiday经常会互相串门玩，或者sleep over，或者一起出去游泳，看电影等等，这些社会活动对于孩子将来作为社会人，在工作，生活中都很有用。
我女儿几个最好的朋友，有俄罗斯人，日本人和华人。日本孩子跟华人孩子是比较合得来的。虽然跟其他澳洲白人孩子在学校也玩的不错，但是真正holiday期间一起串门和出去玩的，还是这些亚洲孩子（包括俄罗斯的）。
另外，我觉得North Shore地区的氛围比Northern Beaches好，在Northern Beaches地区，比如Manly, Harbord, Curl Curl等地，感觉很闭塞，当地白人不像这边那么接纳多元文化。

我没什么经验，但是经常碰到这些上学放学的孩子，感觉几个学校都不错啦，Lindfield East 和 St Ives我更喜欢点。我觉得基本上上北还是要下北简单点，舒服点，不过上个月也听说PLC也有吸毒被开的学生

就ST IVES的两所小学来说，一般认为ST IVES NORTH比较好，因为有个什么特别的Talent program。

我以朋友的孩子考进了那个Talent Program, 但因住不起那个区，接送了半年多还是转学了。
据说除了那个Talent Program, 普通班非常一般，LZ有没有实地考察过？
