我外甥明年要移民来澳洲 （他们全家移民），请问一下这里小学开学日期是什么时候，要在什么时候报名，还是随时可以入学的（公立）。他国内现在是4年纪，到这里之后要读几年级？还有我们住在hurstville，请问怎么知道属于哪个小学。谢谢！

所以明年小学开学的日子是27/01/09。
新移民Year4，Year5的孩子只要你安顿下来，有了住处，带居住地的证明（比如租房合同等）就可以随时去学校报名，随到随上。
你孩子应该是读这里的Year 5，但是具体以学校校长决定。

Hurstville South is a school with a rich multi-cultural population of 450 students. The school prides itself on its outstanding academic, sporting and creative achievements. The strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy ensures our students receive an excellent platform from which to build their future learning. Each classroom is equipped with the latest technology, interactive whiteboards and finger tip access to the internet, all of which are used extensively to enhance teaching and learning and engage students. In 2009 Hurstville South School received a multi million dollar upgrade and now boasts state of the art classrooms and facilities for students and staff. The School supports all students and offers a number of special programs to develop gifted students as well as support those with special needs eg English as a Second Language; Reading Recovery; Community languages (Mandarin and Greek); beginner and performance bands; choirs; public speaking and Tournament of the Minds. The school ensures strong student welfare support with an emphasis on social skill building and values. Student governance and action are vital stimuli for the school's development. There is a wonderful partnership between parents, students and staff with clear lines of communication and consultation processes embedded in the school culture. To support our many working parents the school also offers excellent Before and After School Care as well as a stimulating Vacation Care program all facilitated by fully trained child care professionals. Close ties have been forged between the local pre- school and the school to ensure that transition to Kindergarten is a happy, stress- free time for our youngest students. Similarly, we enjoy an excellent relationship with the local high schools and have established a comprehensive transition program with them for our Year 6 students as they prepare for secondary school.
