After go thought the case study one about the sports apparel, what stage of the life cycle would the industry be? Mature or growth? since there is little information about the buying/supplier power and industry rivalry.

个人觉得对于整个行业来说是mature,但就只是compression apparel来说是growth

But the case did not mention any buying power or competitor at all. So there is not much case fact can be supported if we described the industry as mature or growth.

我也在做M6的内容
正处于挣扎迷茫中,其实这个case没有关于implementation process的内容,只是有了vision, strategy做了planning在实施的过程中遇到employees的resistance,还有两个directors 参加mission意识到开拓亚洲市场他们会遇到哪些阻力。
如果看书里面的几个知识点,重点可以说的就是challenges/how hard to implement之类的。Kotter's 8 steps 我想是挺重要的吧。
其实我也搞不懂,因为case没有太多细节化的东西,information system, organisational structure这些不知道要不要考虑进去,如果要提到这些的话,那就是要自己给建议。我总觉得会不会越扯越远了

If you need detail analysis on "Sports apparel" market in Australia, go to Macquarie library and access ibisworld database as a general public (i.e. go to help desk and ask how to do so). Then download those some relevant industry reports to usb for free.
Just search ibisworld in google and type in sports apparel over its search button to see for the samples

我怎么觉得Australia Athletic Apparel Industry 呢
因为Dakz does not currently operate any company- managed retail store in any international markets. 所以它在海外市场没有运营滴。

我只是根据case,industry的介绍第一句就是global athletic and footwear industry
compression apparel是其中一个发展迅速的segment,而Dakz只是在生产这个系列产品商家里做的比较好的新进的澳洲品牌
我只是考虑这个industry,没有考虑Dakz的经营模式。而且Dakz并没有封闭式的只在澳洲销售,online sales和export给代理商都是触及到international的,它参与的还是国际化的竞争,case里也介绍了虽然澳洲是小市场但国际品牌依然占主导地位。都能说明这个行业是国际化的

1. There is no exact answer to the question of whether you should always define an industry in geographic terms rather than globally. It will depend on the situation. Some organisations are 'born global' via the power of the Internet and sell the same product all over the world. Other organisations focus on a particular geographic market and do not go beyond that boundary. So, it will depend on the organisation conducting the analysis.
2. Some organisations may only operate in one segment of an industry. They may regard this segment as the 'whole industry' for them. We can use the Chasseur case study as an example. There is a 'meat industry' which will include chicken, pork, beef and lamb. Some companies will operate in this industry and produce all these different products. However, other companies may only produce items in the chicken segment of this industry. For those companies, they will define this segment as 'the chicken industry'. So, this goes back to your initial point, 'there is no right or wrong way to define an industry'. The choice will depend on what is most useful to the organisation conducting the analysis.
