之前看到论坛里有同学免掉professional level选修课的，也打电话去问，被告知就算免掉你想免得课，你照样要选另外两门选修课，也就是还不能少考一门，那免课也就没意义了。提醒各位同学哦。

really depends on what you have done on your bachelor and master degree, some people only take 4 units to complete the CPA Program.

我只需修4科compulsory + 1科elective. 我Exempt 了financial risk management. 因為我的master degree 是financial management.

我昨天打电话去, CPA的意思是说就算你FRM免掉了，你还要从剩下的三门里面选两门，反正total也要考到6门，不知道是他说错了还是政策改了。。。

Professional Level Exemptions

Thank you for your query.
CPA Australia's membership entry pathway assessment is designed to
assess the qualifications of each candidate along the whole CPA Program
continuum by finding equivalence between our program and the content &
depth of study already undertaken. In assessing a candidate's
eligibility for the professional level exemptions, CPA Australia
consider study completed at recognised higher education providers. In
order to be appropriate for an exemption, the study must be of
post-graduate level and cover more than 85% of the related professional
level elective segment content.
CPA Australia allow exemptions from completing Professional Level
elective segments only. Exemptions from compulsory segments of the
professional level are not possible regardless if a candidate has
completed similar equivalent study elsewhere. All candidates of CPA
Australia are required to attain a predetermined level of technical
competence before CPA status can be awarded, successful completion of
the compulsory segments in the professional level of the CPA Program
works to ensure this competence.

Thank you for your email. Let me try to clarify.
A maximum of two professional level exemptions may be granted on the basis of equivalent prior learning.
Only elective segments available in the current professional level of CPA Program are considered:
•advanced audit and assurance
•advanced taxation
•contemporary business issues
•financial risk management
No exemptions will be granted for the compulsory professional level segments.
Please note that these exemptions are only available to candidates who met CPA Australia’s educational requirements for for the core knowledge areas of taxation and auditing prior to the commencement of the professional level.
Exemptions for elective segments will be granted for prior learning assessed as being of equivalent content and depth. Prior learning can be postgraduate tertiary education or equivalent professional qualifications.
Courses and subjects accredited by CPA Australia for exemption at the foundation level (including the taxation and auditing core knowledge areas) are not eligible for exemption in the professional level.
To apply for an exemption from the professional level elective segment there is no application form, what you will need to do is write a cover letter containing your name and membership ID number, you will need to request a review of your file, advise which subjects you would like to be exempted from and why (e.g. 'I have complete this subject in my Masters'), then you will need to provide certified copies of official academic records showing you have successfully complete the units of study at a Master Degree study level, and provide a course outline of the subjects so we can determine if the units you completed cover the same content offered in the CPA program.
You will then need to post the letter and documents to:

Once you the documentation has been received CPA Australia request 10 business days to complete a review, then you will be emailed a review outcome letter.
