在线申请600签证3年多次往返， 还需要把护照原件寄给澳洲大使馆吗？网上提交申请后就可以去体检和买保险，不需要等大使馆通知吗？ 大使馆是通过邮件通知签证是否下签了吗？

You don't need post the passport. Don't wait for the notice from them it will have a health check requirement in the case, you simply print it and make an appointment have it done.
Any correspondence they will send you an email also in the case you will find it as well. The approval letter is also an email.
