那天很向往的跟鬼佬同事讨论过买船出海钓鱼的问题，他一脸痛苦地告诉我：买船只有两天是开心的，一天是你买船的当天，还有一天是你卖掉的那天……

Firstly congratulations on getting a new boat.
Basic maintenance & care of your vessel is a must but it varies on the model & type.
It can be generally categorised as inboard or outboard, trailer-able or club storing/mooring, fiber or aluminium, etc...
Different people has different opinion, including boats mechanics/repairer.
Easiest way is to observe and speak to usual boaters, apply common sense, find a reliable mechanic and stick to his instructions, at least to minimise maintenance costs and upkeep for long term reliability.
In fact it is easy to own a boat and go out enjoying water activities, when comes to caring and cleaning, it could sometimes be frustration.
Hectic moments could be time and effort and costs associated with cleaning deck and compartments, running outboard with clean water, rinse trailer with high volume of fresh water, lubricate parts which easily get corrode or jam, sourcing compatible parts to replace faulty ones, etc...
By saying that there are still easiest and quickest way out. If one is affordable, pay and attach to a club which will care and look after your boat everytime you return.
There are lists of the do-and-don't theories and one can only absorb and understand over time and exposure.
