约翰基当初承诺给新西兰人光明的未来，但是最新的社会发展部数据却显示他失败得令人大跌眼镜。
从2010年到2011年，工人的平均收入下降了3％，而且贫富之间的差距更是前所未有之大。
更糟糕的是生活在贫困中的儿童从2007年的15%上升到去年的21%。这简直是让人感到奇耻大辱。
家庭收入报告曝露出约翰基和财政部长比尔•英格里希在管理经济上的失败。在他们的领导下，绝大部份的新西兰家庭眼看着自己的生活越来越糟糕。
收入不平等与贫困对个人生活和整个社会都是腐蚀性的，而国家党政府只会袖手旁观看着新西兰走下坡路。

Income inequality exposes Government’s failure
Falling household incomes and the ever widening gap between rich and poor in New Zealand are an indictment on John Key’s Government, says David Shearer. “John Key promised Kiwis a brighter future, but the latest data from the Ministry of Social Development shows he is failing spectacularly. “Between 2010 and 2011 the average income for workers fell three per cent in real terms, and the gap between rich and poor has never been wider in New Zealand’s history. “And what’s even worse, the number of children living in hardship has increased from 15 per cent in 2007 to 21 per cent last year. That’s nothing less than a bloody disgrace. “The Household Incomes Report exposes John Key and Bill English’s economic failure for all to see. The vast majority of Kiwi families have ended up worse off on their watch. “Income inequality and poverty have a corrosive effect on the lives of individuals and society as a whole. The National Government has sat back and watched New Zealand slide backwards – that’s just not good enough. “National can’t fix the problem; they are part of the problem,” says David Shearer.
