Paternity leave
Paternity leave is paid and unpaid leave available to male employees, consisting of an unbroken period of 1 week following the birth of the child and a further unbroken period of up to 51 weeks in order to be the primary care-giver of the child. Up to 2 months of this unbroken period can be taken as paid leave. The paid leave is normally paid in two instalments: one month is paid when you start your leave, and one month after completing 3 months' service after your return to work.

我的理解是如果妈妈休MATERNITY LEAVE，爸爸就不能休PATERNITY LEAVE。

现在看了看，PAL的理解应该是正确的
如果妈妈主要照顾小孩，老公有1周代薪假。

爸爸在孩子出生后可以连续休1个星期的Paternity leave; 如果爸爸还是孩子的主要照顾着的话还可以再连续休51个星期。公司会发两个月的工资，第一次在你开始休假的时候发；第二个月的工资在你休完假会公司服务3个月后再发。

我们公司以前一个男同事，孩子出生后休了大概10天的假。。

we have 5 days no paid Paternity leave for male employee, 2 month paid Maternity leave for female employee.
