If you don't need to do any recording when your car is parked, then you can do the installation yourself.
Just stick the cam on the windscreen and then connect the power to the cigarette lighter.
But if you want to record when the car is parked (when ignition is off), then perhaps it's better for some professional to install it.
As for myself, instead of hard-wire to the car battery, I purchased a battery pack which can be used when the car is switched off.
I have only powered it on and play with it yet. Still waiting to install it to my new car when it arrives in about 2 - 3 weeks time.
