My mother’s (PR) application handed in November2011. Her nine months visitor visa expired soon.
My question is Will her PR application can continue processin nz or her application will be sent back to China?
Does anyone in similar situation?
In the Immigration office website, it say that
"My residence is still in process, but my temporary visa will expire soon.Lodging a residence application does not mean you can let your temporary class visa expire.
You must be on a valid visa at all times while in NZ. If your temporary visa expires while your residence is in process, you are liable for deportation.
Because of this, the processing of your residence application would have to be suspended under section 169 (3) of the Immigration Act 2009 until you rectify your status, as per the options below.
Your options are to:
- obtain a further temporary class visa to remain in NZ longer, or
- depart NZ and wait for your resident visa decision offshore (please advise your immigration officer of your contact details in this case).
You may also refer to the Related Questions listed below, for specific information on extending temporary class visas. "
Thank you.

但是你妈妈现在在哪里?

My understanding is, if you can't extend her visa, she'll have to go back and wait (don't overstay). You'll need to inform the CO if there's a change in the contact details (it's okay if you can continue to handle the correspondences here). That's all.

Thank you. But at the moment my mum did not have any case officer yet. So who can I contact to say I will take over all the communication of the application?

In Auckland. Will it make difference if she is in China?

I think that's okay as long as the communication is not lost (eg. you are receiving here). But it's better to call the general line to confirm.

PR会继续在新西兰审理。
什么都不需要做,让你母亲回国慢慢等就可以了。

You can apply another 3 months for your mum to stay in nz to make it 12 months if you want, coz my mum did the same thing, as she applied residence of nz at the same time.(that's the policy, ring the INZ to ask for details)
Good luck!
