新西兰HONS问题！！ 到底读stats的好还是fin？

求各位学姐学哥帮帮忙，刚回到nz，是时候决定读哪个major的hons。。目前给我offer的有 stats, fin, acctg。 但是acctg不准备读了。。
感觉读fin hons 比较难，stats就业范围广点。希望有读过，或者了解这两个major的hons的大神们能说说，他们各自的就业如何，以及这一年里的hons会读些什么，或者做些什么。想知道多点关于fin, stats hons是怎么做的那个Dissertation..

stats比较简单, 不过要会编程，作业多是用统计软件做题类的,单一读统计不是很多人愿意读。
finance 的比较多写的，而且数学要求会多一些，因为读的人比较多，所以竞争比较激烈。
统计如果和其他学科结合,就业很强悍！ 比如finance , medical, bio, eco, eng.
读comjoin fin +stats 吧

已经读完了conjoint fin+acctg+stats。。所以很纠结hons应该读哪个。 stats的7xx们对数学的要求高吗？

都读完了阿！ 那不用读了，直接找工作吧。读出来工资也差不多。
建议读fin吧 统计大2的知识就够用了

个人读的是honours in accounting,对stats的hons没有什么了解。但是有一点比较肯定的是，post graduate level的学习方式和内容与undergraduate十分的不一样了。拿accounting and finance department来说，我们的学习内容就是不同的学术论文，通常是自己或者小组看论文，上课的时候就是presentation加上大家讨论和提问。就dissertation而言，在学习和阅读不同方面的论文之后，你可能会对某一个课题比较感兴趣并且想要继续做research。那么dissertation就是你自己完成一个论文。

读honor是先找老师定论文的方向还是已经读了一定程度才决定方向？
dissertation如果英语不是很好的话会不会很吃力，honor需要的篇幅有多长呢。。。

好像不同的major是不一样的。 fin&acctg的话 是你读到s1后 你会自己有个方向 再自己想topic, 找老师。 stats好像是 你现在去申请，找老师之类的。 dissertation应该是要英语很好的人吧。。至少不要有太多grammar问题。 dissertation听说15000字，具体情况不明。

lol... good choice. to be honest...i have never cared so little about study until i reached honours. and also i have never had to work so hard just so that i can actually hand in things on time. so basically workload is tremendous if you wanna do all that is assigned...and its bigger if you wanna do well. OR you can just be pretty genius and figure out the tricks and dont do anything and excel.
finance honours kids are all pretty crazy. but i gotta say i met some of the sharpest minds at the business school and made great friends. so depends on what you wanna do. for me its become more about the people i've connected with rather than the course itself. Good luck to you! my friends doing stats honours this year too so might see you around. and Congrats on being offered 3 honours positions, must be a smarty

lol... no matter what honours degree you are doing. Study is hard work. The workload is tremendous and pressure is tremendous. Here are my suggestions.
1. Choose subjects you enjoy
2. Choose subjects you are good at
3. Choose subjects you need for your chosen career
Interest does not mean that you can do.

depends on what you like.
I liked 702 the most and it was mostly theory. Im not very numerical and i like the financial theory side more. But just keep in mind honours finance NOTHING like undergrad. ZERO similarity. yep.
but otherwise i dont really like any of the papers in particular cuz im not really into the investment side or the academia or the pricing of derivatives or the maths behind it. But you might be different cuz you do accounting and stats. I did comlaw and psychology as my other major so im more theory / people person

no im over studying. but regret not doing psych honours over finance honours...i did finance cuz i was getting so sick of researching articles and writing essays....but then finance honours is like the same =.=...atleast reading about people more interesting than reading about finance...
i think i read about 250 articles that average bout 40-60 pages last semester....

im thinking about fin 762 or 761, whats the difference between them? i dont really want the extremes, like too theoretical or too mathematics, i would prefer the mixture of them.
have you decided your dissertation topic yet? i heard in fin hons you have to decide your own topic and present it in front of staff audiences and they decide whether they want to be your supervisor or not....thats really tough....
