可以商量么，如果真的挡着别人了，而且树叶很多，你就一人出一半钱呗，远亲不如近邻给。

其实他搬进来之前我已经砍了一次，因为他是新买了才搬来没多久。之前那业主和我不错，我们一起剪的树好让他房子卖得快。
我找天过去和新邻居聊看吧。
不过要掏几百块给他修剪我有点不甘心。

长过人家院子的话就需要你弄了。

其实lz换位思考一下，如果你的邻居的树老掉叶子到你屋顶， 你会怎么样？ 想明白了不就知道怎么做了吗

这事本来就不该LZ出费用。象我们要有这样的要求，就会主动提出承担所有的费用和劳动，完事了还要說谢谢。LZ的邻居居然不提由谁来承担的问题，还指望LZ主动提出，有些不会做人。

Ask them to pay for the costs if they want hassle free otherwise go to tribunal and share costs of cutting.

简单的说，只要是你地盘里的树给邻居造成的损失都将由你来买单。比如说，你家的树叶掉到邻居屋顶把雨槽堵住了，邻居请人来修，费用是要找你付的。
Even if your neighbour's tree has caused no damage, but is simply being a nuisance, perhaps by blocking sun or light, they may still be liable for the cost of getting the nuisance resolved. This is because tree owners should take reasonable steps to stop the trees interfering with their neighbour's enjoyment of their own properties.

你这个好像不大对吧,我怎么记得以前在一个政府什么网站看过一个大概是邻里守则之类的说,你完全没有义务为了你的邻居而砍或者修剪自己的树,如果树长到他们那边的话,他们可以自己修剪,然后树枝啥的得给回你. 唯一的特殊情况好像是如果你的树的根长到邻居家房子地下造成他们的房子有问题的话好像要解决

我给出的link里面详细解释了，如果邻居的树长的超过你的fence，但是没有带来其他的影响，比如档光线或者堵水槽等问题，你自己将超过的树枝修剪就可以了

I have discussed this with the council although they note they have no jurisdiction, they do indicate that and I quote "Even if your neighbour's tree has caused no damage, but is simply being a nuisance, perhaps by blocking sun or light, they may still be liable for the cost of getting the nuisance resolved. This is because tree owners should take reasonable steps to stop the trees interfering with their neighbour's enjoyment of their own properties."

没办法，新西兰的法律就是这样规定的。
最好请个专业的人来修剪，我以前曾有自己修剪结果树死掉的惨痛经历。
