CONTRIBUTION IS FOR GOV. CO-CONTRIBUTION PURPOSE

Does anyone know if the total income for the co-contribution is your taxable income or income before tax (gross income)?

It's based on your assessable income:
Assessable income is income before deductions
Deductions for personal super contriubions will reduce taxable income, but will not reduce assessable income.
Salary sacrifice will reduce assessable income; however salary sacrifice super contributions are effectively added back through the inclusion of reportable employer super contributions in the income definitions.

不同type of contribution 有不同code
e.g. 123 for employer contribution.
345 for salary sacrifice
567 for personal contribution (after-tax)
789 for spouse contribution.

http://www.ato.gov.au/corporate/ ... p;page=1#P447_39038

From ATO website:
Assessable income:
Gross income including salary and wages, dividends, interest and rent before any deductions are allowed. Assessable income also includes net capital gains, ETP and other amounts that are not ordinarily classed as income.
Gross income
The total income before business and tax deductions are accounted for.
It seems that Gross income is part of Assessable income.
