Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has arrived in Victoria to receive a briefing on the devastating floods, as he confirms the Australian Defence Force has been deployed.
Evacuation orders have been issued for areas across northwest Victoria as residents are warned waters may not recede for up to a week.
Mr Albanese flew into Bendigo on Sunday morning to meet with Premier Daniel Andrews, with the pair set to visit the Emergency Centre headquarters at Epsom.
Speaking earlier on Sunday morning, the Prime Minister said the Federal Government has made “whatever assistance” requested and noted that the Defence Force has been deployed.

He also said the Mickleham quarantine facility has been made available for those that have had to evacuate their homes.
“We've made whatever assistance has been requested available, there are now 60 Australian Defence Force personnel on the ground, assisting with evacuations, assisting with sandbagging, doing their bit as our Defence Forces always do,” Mr Albanese told ABC Radio.
“We've also made available the Commonwealth facilities at Mickleham to create a Centre for National Resilience, which will ensure that 250 beds are available for those people who've had to, unfortunately, evacuate their homes.”
Authorities have told those in the towns of Echuca and Charlton to evacuate before it’s too late.

Earlier today, we approved a request from the Vic Govt for up to 60 ADF personnel for immediate flood support. They will be helping with sandbagging, evacuations & resupplying isolated communities. We stand with Victorians right now & we thank our troops for their service.

Residents in Orrvale, Mooroopna, Shepparton and Kialla West however have been told it’s now too late to leave, after being given a two-hour window late on Saturday night.
On Sunday VicEmergency said Shepparton is experiencing “major flooding” and it could peak as early as Monday.
“Major flooding is now occurring at Shepparton where a major peak around 12.2m is possible early Monday, above the 1974 flood level of 12.09m,” it said.
“Strong river rises will continue during Sunday at Shepparton, where levels are likely to exceed 12.10m by 6pm Sunday, before peaking around 12.20m early Monday.
“Major flooding has peaked around 12.00m at Murchison, which is significantly higher than the May 1974 flood.”
The Bureau of Meteorology warned the week ahead could see “major flooding” at Echuca and Moama – possibly exceeding levels seen in 2016.
“River levels at Echuca Wharf may exceed the 2016 flood (93.39 m AHD) and reach levels possibly higher than the 1993 flood (94.77 m AHD),” BOM said.
“As this flood water moves downstream, river level rises and significant major flooding is expected at Torrumbarry and Barham.”
