总理莫里森坚持拜登当选美国总统不会改变澳洲的气候变化政策，包括设定净零排放目标。
莫里森先生说:"澳洲一直是根据澳洲的国家利益和我们在这些领域所做的贡献来制定政策的"。
"美国会根据他们的利益和能力和他们经济结构来做决定，我们也一样。"
拜登的竞选平台包括重新加入巴黎气候协议，设定在2050年或之前达到净零排放，在2035年或之前有一个无碳能源行业，在未来四年投资两兆亿在干净能源上。
虽然莫里森先生说净零排放目的是"可以达到的"，但联邦政府拒绝设定类似的目标。
莫里森先生说气候政策不是通用的。
"我们是要尽快达到目标，但我们要根据科技路线图来做。"
"所以我们要有科技来达到将来更低排放的目的。"
"你要有计划才可以达到目的。"

Later on Wednesday, Mr Morrison said Australia would decide its own climate change policies.
"Our policies won't be set in the United Kingdom, they won't be set in Brussels, they won't be set in any part of the world other than here," he said.
"I'm very aware of the many views that are held around the world, but I tell you what, our policies will be set here in Australia.
"And no-one understands that better than the British Prime Minister, given his recent election on the issue of Brexit.
"And so he totally understands Australia's sovereignty when it comes to making these sovereign decisions about our future."
