本文依据2013年新西兰人口统计数据和2014年汉密尔顿市政府进行的社区调查统计数据,针对人口、就业、家居生活等各方面信息进行总结,希望以数据的方式为正在这里生活和即将选择汉密尔顿开展新生活的人们提供参考,了解数据采集时汉密尔顿的生活状况。
The following summary is made on the community profile operated by Hamilton City Counsil for those who are living and plan to live in Hamilton as their reference sources
Information has been accessed primarily from two sources:
- Census 2013 (Statistics New Zealand)
- Hamilton City Council community surveys, conducted in 2014.
Both these sources provide a snapshot of data at the time they were taken. Data generally does not measure longitudinal trends.

东1区 About East Area 1 (Rototuna,Flagstaff,Huntington, Sylvester, Horshams Downs)

East Area 1 is located on the north-western side of Hamilton city in New Zealand. The area is predominantly residential, although there are a number of retail areas as well.
There is a major shopping centre in East Area 1 at Rototuna. This includes two supermarkets, a medical centre, pharmacy, veterinarian, garden centre and many other entertainment and dining facilities.
Schools in East Area 1 include Rototuna Primary School, Te Totara Primary School, Waikato Waldorf School and Hamilton Christian School.
There are a number of parks in the area, including Tauhara Park, Discovery Park and Flagstaff Park.

impact of crime and perceptions of safety within the community. East Area 1 has less survey
respondents who have been victims of crimes, and more East Area 1 residents feel safer in their neighbourhood than the Hamilton average, both during the day and night

There are 7287 private dwellings in East Area 1. A higher proportion of those in the area own their dwelling – 60.3 percent compared to the Hamilton average of 57.2 per cent. East Area 1
has a high home ownership rate and rental prices.

West Area 2 is on the western boundary of Hamilton. It is generally a residential area, with some retail. A shopping centre is located in West Area 2, which includes a supermarket, greengrocer, and various entertainment, dining and fast food shops.
Schools in West Area 2 include Fraser High School, Nawton Primary School and Crawshaw Primary School

East Area 4 is located in the South East of Hamilton. The area is predominantly residential, although there are a number of retail, community and recreational facilities located there as well.
There are number of shops along Grey Street, which is the main shopping location for the area. This contains a number of facilities, including dairies, a hardware store, gym and pharmacies, as well as a number of entertainment and dining stores. Waimarie: Hamilton East Community House is located in the area, as well as the Hamilton Gardens. There is a medical centre close to Grey Street.
Schools in the area include Hamilton East School, Patricia Avenue School, Peachgrove Intermediate School, Sacred Heart Girls’ College and Hamilton Boys’ High School.

The West Area 5 is located in central Hamilton, and includes the central city and lake area. Given this location, it is a mixture of residential, business, retail and recreational facilities. There are several key locations in the area, including Waikato Hospital, the central city, Seddon Park, Waikato Stadium, Waikato Museum and Garden Place Library. There are numerous shopping and retail centres, including the CentrePlace shopping mall, and cafes, bars, restaurants and
nightclubs along Victoria and Hood Streets, amongst others.
There are various parks and recreation facility. Hamilton’s Lake Rotoroa is in the area, which is both used for water sports and those using the walkway surrounding it for sports and recreation. Parks such as Hinemoa Park, Lake Domain Reserve, Innes Common, and Gower Park are in the area. There are also other forms of entertainment and recreation including Founders and Clarence Street Theatres, as well as the Meteor and movie theatres.
There are a number of historically significant buildings in the area including St Peter’s Cathedral.
Local tertiary education provider WINTEC is located in West Area 5, as well as schools in the area including Hamilton Girl’ High School, Whitiora Primary School, and Hamilton West School.

West Area 4 is a central area of Hamilton. It has a rich history and a mixture of large industrial and commercial establishments including the railway station and stock yards. There is a wide variety of fast food stores, car dealers, opportunity shops and banks (Bank of New Zealand, ANZ, Westpac, New Zealand Post and Kiwibank). Frankton has a busy shopping centre and weekly outdoor markets for food, clothing and commodities. A Forlongs department store is the largest shopping outlet in Frankton with facilities for electronic goods, hardware, furniture,
outdoor equipment, general goods, fashion and fabrics.
Schools in Frankton include Frankton Primary School and Rhode School. Maeroa Intermediate School, Waikato region’s first intermediate school established in 1954 is located here.

There are a number of small shopping centres located in West Area 6, which include dairies, greengrocers, and various entertainment, dining or fast food shops. There is also a supermarket in the area as well as medical centres and a veterinarian.
Other community facilities include the Glenview Library and Glenview Community Centre.
Schools in West Area 6 include Melville Primary School, Deanwell School, St Pius X School, Glenview Primary School, Melville Intermediate School, Southcity Christian School and Melville High School.
