The following summary is made on the community profile operated by Hamilton City Counsil for those who are living and plan to live in Hamilton as their reference sources
Information has been accessed primarily from two sources:
- Census 2013 (Statistics New Zealand)
- Hamilton City Council community surveys, conducted in 2014.
Both these sources provide a snapshot of data at the time they were taken. Data generally does not measure longitudinal trends.
有关东1区 About East Area 1

East Area 1 is located on the north-western side of Hamilton city in New Zealand. The area is predominantly residential, although there are a number of retail areas as well.
There is a major shopping centre in East Area 1 at Rototuna. This includes two supermarkets, a medical centre, pharmacy, veterinarian, garden centre and many other entertainment and dining facilities.
Schools in East Area 1 include Rototuna Primary School, Te Totara Primary School, Waikato Waldorf School and Hamilton Christian School.
There are a number of parks in the area, including Tauhara Park, Discovery Park and Flagstaff Park.

The median annual income varies across the area, although all are higher than the Hamilton average. There are higher proportion of people on incomes above $50,000 than the Hamilton average, and less people on incomes of less than $20,000

The East Area 1 population have a lower unemployment rate, and a different employment picture from that of Hamilton. There are a smaller proportion of those on benefits compared to the Hamilton average.

impact of crime and perceptions of safety within the community. East Area 1 has less survey
respondents who have been victims of crimes, and more East Area 1 residents feel safer in their neighbourhood than the Hamilton average, both during the day and night

本区域内共有7287套住房,房产拥有率和房租均高于汉密尔顿平均值。
There are 7287 private dwellings in East Area 1. A higher proportion of those in the area own their dwelling – 60.3 percent compared to the Hamilton average of 57.2 per cent. East Area 1
has a high home ownership rate and rental prices.
