A portfolio of nine Auckland properties previously owned by failed high-profile property player Don Ha are being marketed for mortgagee sale by real estate agency Bayleys.
BusinessDay reported in May that the self-described real estate king was back running his former real estate and property management company, that had tipped into receivership in March owing $7 million to KiwiBank.
Top One - a company owned by Ha's family and friends and of which he is a director - successfully bid to buy the Manukau real estate agency from the receivers for $1.35m, and is now operating under the Rental one brand rather than its former Ray White franchise.
Ha's agency originally failed after he fell behind on mortgage payments to KiwiBank for the 50 investment properties he owned and rented out in South Auckland.
The properties for sale are spread across the South Auckland region and include five three bedroom houses, a four bedroom property and a two bedroom house. There are also two 10-bedroom boarding houses that had been rented out commercially as temporary accommodation.
Bayleys residential mortgagee manager Hayden Butler said the portfolio, the largest to be brought to the market in recent years, was likely to be sold off individually. Eight of them were currently tenanted.
Butler told BusinessDay he couldn't put an approximate figure on the combined total of the properties.
''We're leaving it up to the purchasers to give us a value on them.''
The properties will be auctioned on November 30.
