We are one of the largest car dealerships in the country.  With over 12 branches nationwide and still expanding. The purpose of this position is to ensure that all mechanical duties are performed in an effective and timely manner as per set targets.

We are now seeking Automotive Technicians to join our expanding team - Immediate Start! As a Mechanic Technician, you will be reporting directly to the Company's Service Manager, being responsible for servicing heavy vehicles.  

Duties will include:

• To undertake all routine service and repair work on vehicles
• Achieving prompt and accurate diagnosis of vehicle faults and service needs
• Experience in Japanese and European vehicles preferred
• Ensure all vehicles are processed accurately and efficiently and of a high standard
• Achieving a "fix it right the first time" policy
• Delivering a great level of customer satisfaction required to achieve service customer retention standards
• To accurately account for all available hours each day, both productive and non-productive with an emphasis on maximizing productive time
• Perform quality workmanship to minimize the occurrence of re-work.
• Ensure all paperwork and processes are completed in a timely manner
• Undertake all communications as required with customers only in conjunction with the owner and in a manner that contributes to the achievement of customer satisfaction.
• To be proactive n securing incremental business
• Ensure workshop area is kept safe in accordance with the Health and Safety policies
• Use proper safety equipment when required
• Use all equipment and tools in a safe and conscientious manner
• Report damage to vehicles/plant/premises as soon as possible.
• Clean contaminant spills as soon as possible using the Spill Kit.
• Contribute to “toolbox meetings” and company policies and procedures.
• Hold and maintain a current NZ Drivers Licence
  

To be a successful automotive mechanic, you’ll need:

• A trade certified or Advanced Trade Certificate or Level Four on the national framework
• Diagnostic experience with European cars an advantage but not a requirement.
• Be available to work rostered Saturdays and some late shifts from time to time
• Be confident to cover rostered after hours on-call breakdown service one in every 4 weeks
• An adequate toolbox to perform duties required
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Time management
• A clean driver’s NZ Drivers Licence (Class 5 would be an advantage however not a requirement)
