ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with the sales and production team, this role will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all the national and international freight, from booking space, receipt of freight, the documentation and data entry process, coordinating customs clearance, collection and delivery, and final calculation of charges in an accurate, timely and professional manner.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipment Coordination and Monitoring
- Coordinate and monitor shipments and timeline to ensuring the safe and timely delivery
Address and resolve shipment and inventory issues - Organize inventory and transportation
- Oversee all inventory of stock and ensure accuracy of records kept for track and tracing purposes
- Complete to end process coordination for the local market, including the creation of orders of purchase and checkpoint
- Oversee import/export documentation
- Review and validate shipment costs down ensuring the best rates are provided
Procurement and Supplier Management
- Purchase of raw materials and packaging
- Identify and screen potential supplier sources and negotiate favourable payment terms
- Develop and maintain a strong partnership with suppliers to meet quality and cost objectives
- Lead supplier contract management and contract renewals
Inventory Management
- Monitor the stock level in the warehouse and arrange stock replenishment with the production team if required
- Coordinate and follow up the stock replenishment with the production team and logistics companies to monitor the whole process
- Manage monthly stocktake in the warehouse
- Monitor inventory in the warehouse and dispose of damaged or expired stock
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience within a supply chain/inventory/logistics focused role ideally within manufacturing/FMCG
- Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multitask and have good attention to detail and thoroughness
- Outstanding organizational and coordination skills
