Casual Assistant Motel ManagerJob Description
[size=1.125]We are on the hunt for an amazing person to fill a Part-time assistant manager's position. Working on Monday and Wednesday, 9am to 2pm. May be changed later depending on the requirement, you may also became our relief manager.
The ideal candidate will be a hospitality professional with a flair for friendly and attentive customer service and a keen eye for detail.
You will work closely with the owners and deliver consistent, high quality results.
You must have a commitment to excellence, along with strong organizational , communication skills, honesty and an outstanding work ethic.
This is a hands on role and there could be some cleaning required on some occasions so you will need to be flexible.
The role is varied and will entail assisting the Manager with following job description including but not limited to:
-General overall running of the motel/hostel.
-Providing guests with an experience that exceeds their expectations
-Checking and replying to emails in a timely and professional manner.
-Answering phone calls and processing bookings.
-Operating the guest booking system
-Check people in and give local advice when needed.
-Processing guest payments
-Sending out accounts and or overseeing this process.
-Training and managing a team of cleaning staff, keeping them motivated.
-Give instructions to the cleaners and ensure rooms are quality checked once cleaners have finished.
-The ability to work together
-Ordering motel goods from suppliers.
-Dealing professionally with any issues that may arise during the day and night.
Ideally you have previously worked in hotels /motels /hostels, but not essential. The successful applicants will have:
-Clean criminal history
-Experience in breakfast preparation (including continental and cooked breakfast)
-Well-developed PC literacy - proven skills in Microsoft Office and Reservation software
-Strong skills in relationship building and people management skills
-Have initiative, be trustworthy and able to work independently
-Have good practical skills
-Have excellent time management skills
-will have a ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to complete any task no matter how big or small.
-Strong sales / customer service skills are a must
