JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor
Reports to: Managing Director
Location: Mount Eden, Auckland
Key relationships:
Internal – Managing Director, Internal Office, Site Managers
External – Council, Contractors, Architect, Engineers, Surveyors and Other third parties
Role Purpose:
A Junior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role will also be responsible for project assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis
• Price/ forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
• Prepare tender contracts, contracts, budgets, bill of quantities and other documentations
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
• Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
• Measure and value the work done on site
• Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site mangers, builders, architects and engineers
• Liaise with the project managers of Central and Southern Auckland to maximize productivity
• Select and/or source construction materials
• Make contact of the manufacturers and/or suppliers
• Collaborate with the project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle
• Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants efficiently
• Complete any necessary administrative tasks related to projects, such as research and email
• Provide clients information about project/products and services by communicating with them from time to time.
• To adhere to BMH Homes policies, procedures and Government regulatory requirement in regards to Health and Safety. Ensuring risks and hazards are continually monitored and removed/ reduced making the work place as safe as practicable
