ABOUT THE ROLE
The Marketing Specialist role is responsible for managing a portfolio of existing and new products to develop a clear brand positioning to build a strong and positive brand image. This role will be also responsible for collecting and analyzing relevant market research/data to identify current and future marketing trends and consumer preferences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Management
- Support manager to identify and specify brand positioning to create brand differentiation
- Monitor and analyse brand performance
- Manage ad work closely with TP/sales team/sales channels to monitor the implementation of marketing plans
- Manage all communication channels to ensure the alignment and implementation of brand positioning and marketing plans
- Collaborate with the sales team and external business partners for the implementation of marketing strategies to create a positive brand image
New Product Development
- Explore and identify new product development (NPD) opportunities and propose project plans
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate the feasibility of NPD projects
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver NPD projects within target timeframes, including building and maintaining detailed plans & timelines, identifying potential risks and proposing contingency plans, tracking and reporting on progress at regular intervals etc.
- Provide training to cross-functional teams on new products covering value proposition, specification etc.
Market Research and Consumer Insight
- Collect and analyse relevant market research/data to identify current and future marketing trends, the threats and opportunities for business development, compared with main competitors
- Collect and analyse multiple sources of consumer and in-market data to predict the consumer’s preferences, identify key brand insights, challenges and opportunities
- Effectively engage, communicate and influence internal and external partners to optimize brand and products
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in brand management or a similar role ideally within FMCG
- Strong business acumen
- Strong market-orientated and consumer focus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Exceptional interpersonal skill
- Proficient in data interpretation and using insights to drive key business decisions
- Ability to form effective relationships with existing and potential customers, employees/contractors and suppliers at all levels
- Keep up to date with developments in the industry, monitoring trends and developments
- An excellent understanding of brand management and the full marketing mix
