The role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant and Office admin to join a fast growing team of sustainability experts in a locally owned business. You are confident to take responsibility for technical accounting, finance and payroll areas. At the same time, you are happy to support the day to day running of the office with administrative tasks.
This is a permanent part-time role, starting at 24-30 hours per week with the potential to grow into a full-time position and is based in West Auckland.
What you’ll do- Take ownership of accounts payable and receivable and day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero
- Assist with preparing and filing tax returns, and preparing financial accounts for thinkstep’s New Zealand entities
- Prepare financial forecasting and budgets
- Ensure effective and efficient office systems are implemented and maintained
- Integrate carbon and sustainability KPIs in company reporting
- Provide general office administration and support
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
- Excellent project and time management skills
- You love to collaborate and pro-actively assist other team members
- A can-do attitude and are happy to work in an agile environment juggling multiple tasks
- Attention to detail, strategic thinking and strong business acumen
- Proven ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (accounts, finance, admin), in a professional services company
- Advanced computer literacy skills including experience with a range of systems such as Xero and expert Excel skills
- Ability to work in a multi- culture environment
- Confidence in dealing with accruals on a regular basis
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning and in preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and financial reports
- Excellent communication skills
