Private tutoring with qualified and experienced English Language Instructor

I have a Cambridge CELTA English Teaching certificate and a Language teaching and Linguistics degree
from Auckland University. I have taught English for 2 years overseas and 8 years doing private lessons in
New Zealand.
I have experience language learning becoming fluent in Korean and am learning Beginner level Japanese
and Chinese so I know effective methods to learn a language. Not just theory. I have done a lot of
research on different language learning methods, psychology and how to optimize external factors such
as timing, nutrition, exercise and well being to improve learning, which is especially useful for adults
who struggle to remember what they have learned.
Do language coaching with me and have effective and fun English speaking practice and learn special
methods to find your specific weak points.
Having one on one speaking practice and coaching is the best way to improve your own language study
methods and is the best best way to get a higher IELTS score, to make friends with native Kiwi people
and make friends in every day life. Not just cheap tricks to beat the IELTS test. Actually get better at
English and learn methods to improve faster on your own for all purposes.
Learning cheap tricks to pass the IELTS test will not help you in the long term because when you actually
go to work or study your lack of ability will be incredibly obvious.
English classes in a classroom are often ineffective because they don't focus on your specific weak point.
They have a general method to try to satisfy the whole class but this is often inefficient and slow
because the teacher will not cover specific points which you need to cover. Language school classes are
just made for the schools to make maximum profit, not really maximizing the student's learning
potential.
One on one English tutoring with me is more expensive per hour than going to a class, but if you spend
enough time with me you can achieve much more progress in a much shorter time, so it's actually
cheaper in the long run and saves you a lot of time.
You could go to English classes for 20 + hours a week for 2 years, or see me for 5 - 10 hours a week for
one year. Which is the wiser decision?
Lessons at my home office in Birkenhead are $40 per hour.
$35 per hour if you book 10 lessons in advance (Recommended)
(If you would like me to travel to your home it costs extra due to my time spent driving, which means I
cannot tutor as many students in one day, as well as petrol costs)
For people who want to do only 2 hours per week: I can definitely do this, however from my experience,
progress for these students is very slow if they do not commit seriously to their own study outside of
class time. I don't like to see people waste their time and money. If possible, please consider dedicating
real time and effort to lessons. Learning a language takes a lot of time and mental effort. Please take my
advice and let me make it easier for you.
My schedule usually becomes very busy after January. If you would like to choose the best times for you,
Sooner is better than later.
