Summary:
The Pastry Chef should (willing to) have the culinaryexpertise and experience to make a wide a variety of cakes and desserts,including confectionery work. They must understand and appreciate thesubtleties of flavour pairings and different tastes, and have a good aestheticsense for food and pastry presentation.
This position is responsible for thedaily preparation of all cakes, pastries, and desserts as well as overseeingthe entire production of pastries, sweets, fillings and toppings, includingtheir design, creation, execution and presentation.
KeyResponsibilities and Requirements:
· Works closely with the R&D Manager tocreate new and exciting cakes, pastries & desserts to refresh our menus andengage the interest of customers.
· Consistently maintains standards of quality,cost, eye appeal and flavour of foods.
· Prepares items in accordance with establishedportion and presentation standards.
· Maintains a good atmosphere among staff membersand practice good work ethics.
· Completes cake preparation duties includingbattering, leveling, filling, frosting, casing, baking and decorating (masking& piping).
· Ensures kitchen systems are adhered to at alltimes.
· Maintains a professional appearance at alltimes.
· Ability to take direction and to work in a teamenvironment.
· Ability to work calmly and effective underpressure.
· Complies with procedures to ensure all Healthand Safety and Food Hygiene requirements are compliant with current legislationand to ensure temperature records and food labelling are recorded and up todate.
· Responsible with the wider team for the kitchenoperation and the entire food operations.
· Any kind of ad-hoc tasks required by thecompany and the manager.
