The Cheesecake Shop Rotorua is looking to recruit aStore Manager. This is a full-time permanent position, primarily managing allaspects of the outlet by assuring excellent customer service and controllingoverall daily operations.
Job Description
Title: Store Manager
Reports to: Franchisee
As a store manager, you:
· Must be able to work various shifts per week
· Must have at least one-year experience as a baker or decorator.
· Must have at least three years of experience in managing foodretail/service business ( franchise preferred)
· Must have passion in both customer service and food hygiene standards.(Food safety certificate and first aid certificate preferred).
There are 6 key componentswhich make up the job of store manager for The Cheesecake Shop.
1. Baking or decorating:
The manager is requiredto ensure that all recipes and procedures are followed. As the Manager thiswill involve the physical baking or decorating of all products and from time totime overseeing and training of staff in the correct recipes and procedures. Themanager is re responsible for the ordering of ingredients and materials for theproduction of all products. In the baking environment the manager must bedetail oriented and have an eye for the look of the finished product ascustomers buy with their eyes first.
2. Staff Management:
The manager is responsiblealong with input from the franchisee for the determining of staffing levels andthe employment of individuals to fill roles required. In addition the managerprovides the initial and ongoing training of all staff under their direction.This includes production planning, scheduling and recording. The manager isresponsible for ensuring that the payroll stays within budget. The manager isresponsible to supervise work output and to create a team environment byhandling employment issues and implementing appropriate behavior andperformance directives. Within the store environment the manager is responsiblefor the ongoing training and monitoring of the appearance and effectiveness ofall retail staff.
3. Cleanliness and Safety:
The manager mustenforce standards regarding food handling, safety and sanitation. This requiresknowledge of health department regulations, and an understanding of TheCheesecake Shop Operations and Health and safety Manuals. The manager mustensure that the sore appearance and overall operations are up to standard.
4. Equipment:
The manager mustensure the upkeep of all equipment in store including all preventativemaintenance is completed as well as timely attention to any breakdowns.
5. Inventory:
Overseeinginventory is part of a mangers responsibility. Overseeing inventory involvesordering and rotating ingredients and materials such as flour, sugar, cheese,packaging etc. butter; it also involves receiving and unloading deliveries.Tracking inventory requires calculating the proper amount of ingredientsnecessary for production of goods on a given day or week. Furthermore, a bakerymanager must keep an eye on demand for each kind of product to know how much toproduce. The manager is to complete stocktakes when required in a timely andaccurate manner.
6. Budgeting:
The manager isresponsible for ensuring the profitability of the store. This means they mustwork within the confines of the stores budget in order to maximize sales.Budgeting involves knowing how to price when stock needs to move, trackingsales, and labour and inventory costs. In achieving profitability the manageris responsible to ensure that all sales are recorded and that all cash isbanked intact.
