10. BMW R 1200S
With a top speed of 167 mph, the BMW R 1200S is notable for more than just its speed. This is one of the fastest liquid cooled engines in the world.
9. Honda CBR600 RR
The Honda CBR600 RR has been tested at 172 mph thanks to a 1,700cc motor. Introduced in 2004, the little Honda that could still just makes the cut on this list of the world’s ten fastest motorcycles. When this bike was brought out, it set a new standard for design, and most of the world’s quickest bikes now owe their look to this Honda machine.
8. Ducati 1098 S
The Italian-madeDucati 1098 S is able to reach at least 172 mph. A liquid cooled four-stroke engine paired up with an uber-Italian “tricolor” color scheme make this motorcycle stand out in a crowd.
7. MV Agusta F4 R312
This is the grandfather of super fast street legal motorcycles. The MV Agusta F4 R312 was first released in 1994 and is still one of the world’s fastest with a top speed of 176 mph. 185 HP tends to do that to a motorbike.
6. Yamaha YZF-R1
The Yamaha YZF-R1 was introduced to the world in 1998. A massive top speed of 177 mph comes out of a reworking of the Genesis engine in order to shorten its length and push more power into the bike. If you’ve ever wanted to travel from 0-60 mph in less than three seconds on a motorcycle, this Yamaha’s for you.
5. Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa
It is not uncommon to see a few ‘Busas (as they’re known) touring around with more traditional road monster bikes. ‘Busa lovers are fanatical about their machine’s ability to act both as a superbike and as a touring machine. Just because the top speed of this beast is a blistering 186 mph doesn’t mean you can’t tool along country roads enjoying the view
4. Kawasaki ZX-12R Ninja
This ridiculously fast motorcycle was Kawasaki’s answer to Suzuki’s Hayabusa. A top speed slightly higher than the ‘Busa (tested at 189 mph) means owners of the ZX-12R Ninja have bragging rights. For now.
3. MV Agusta F4 1000 MT Tamburini
Something called TSS (Torque Shift System) makes this MV one of the three fastest street legal motorcycles in the world, clocked at a top speed of 191 mph.

The 1100 CC version of the MT Tamburini packs even more power, testing at a top speed of 196 mph.
1. Ducati Desmosedici RR
The world’s fastest street legal motorcycle has never been officially clocked at 200 mph, so the production specs list the top speed as 199 mph. Ducati claims the bike is more than capable of travelling above 200 mph, but this has never been proven. How does it work? Double L-twin engines with two cylinder stroking makes for a total of sixteen valves pumping out enough power to allow Ducati to claim the title of “world’s fastest street legal motorcycle”.
